Kansas State Veterinary Medical Library Outreach Grant
Abstract
Representatives from Kansas State's Veterinary Medical Library attended three veterinary medical meetings as exhibitors where they distributed materials about the National Library of Medicine and its services to veterinarians, veterinary technicians, faculty members of veterinary colleges, veterinary students, veterinary public health workers and other health care professionals attending the meetings. Their display had posters which showed databases that were available for use by veterinary health care professionals, described the services their library provided to health care professionals, and showed the methods of information delivery that they could provide to veterinary health care professionals. They also demonstrated how to use and search the NLM databases PubMed and MEDLINEplus. They also answered the individual questions that veterinary health care professionals had about the services that NLM could provide them through the databases PubMed and MEDLINEplus and the use of these databases.
