dc.description.abstract | The article focuses on the transition of students with learning disabilities (LDs) from high school to postsecondary education. The process of a student's transition from high school is described. Social, psychological, and economic benefits of postsecondary education are highlighted. Characteristics of students with LDs who successfully transition to postsecondary education are described. Recommendations are offered to high school educators for improving a student's skills prior to transition to postsecondary education. Services for students with LDs in postsecondary education are described, including evaluation and accommodation. | |
