The purposes of this thesis are, therefore, three-fold: (1) to unite in a formal presentation a. the available material which will give the English faculty and administrators of Lawrence High School a factual description of the present General English curriculum and the type of students therein enrolled at the time of this study; (2) from these collected data to determine the justification of the recent questioning of the General English curriculum; (3) and if such questioning is justified, to offer specific recommendations which would serve as preliminary steps in correcting the discrepancies in the General English program.en_US
