This volume is a collection of various papers, handouts, and elicitation notes produced by graduate and undergraduate students as part of the Field Methods course at KU during the spring 2014 semester. The class had the pleasure and privilege of collaborating with Mfon Udoinyang, a linguist and native speaker of Ibibio, a Lower Cross Niger-Congo language spoken in Akwa Ibom State in southeastern Nigeria. Mfon taught the class as a language consultant, and, together with Professor Harold Torrence, as co-Instructor of the course.
This volume contains a collection of research about Ibibio, a Niger-Congo, Lower Cross language spoken in southeastern Nigeria. While there is previous linguistic work on Ibibio, this volume, to our knowledge, is the largest single collection of data and analysis ever produced on the language.en_US
