Koncepta lokalnega in globalnega danes pomenita veliko in prav zaradi tega malo.

The concepts of local and global today mean a lot and for that very reason little. This issue becomes particularly evident in relation to culture, which cannot be contained within any boundaries. Based on the literary and essayistic work of Aleš Debeljak, the article tries to formulate a different approach to this question, starting from the poet's concept of cosmopolitanism. As a child of the former Yugoslavia, Debeljak understood identity as the spread of concentric circles from Slovenia through Yugoslavia to America. The article thus deals with the opposition of the concept of identity and the positions of local, global and states in between.
