| dc.description.abstract | The Peoples and Languages of Roatán is a compilation of writings about the diverse peoples and languages in Roatán, including the Miskitu, Garifuna, Bay Island English-speaking Kriols, and Spanish-speaking Ladinos (mestizos). A special focus is given to the use of language in inter-ethnic relations and pedagogy. The book also includes maps, pictures, and a practical traveler’s guide with common expressions used by the four major linguistic groups of Roatán. | |
