dc.description.abstract | The Montgomery County cost and benefit model is a spreadsheet designed to help assess the impacts of granting various kinds of subsidies and tax abatements to a new (or expanding) firm. The current version of the model allows the user to analyze effects of firm locations or expansions in Coffeyville, Independence, Caney, or Cherryvale. The model allows the user (typically an economic development specialist) to customize inputs based on specific information about Montgomery County communities and about firms that are considering Montgomery County locations. The model then calculates results such as employment, income, and tax collections. | en_US |
