The report was prepared in conjunction with the Focused Program on Digital Video in Information Systems of the Advanced Technology Program (ATP), an operating unit of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), US Department of Commerce. The report provides information on the pathways or causal links that could potentially lead from activities of the Digital Video program to impacts on the U.S. Economy.

The main goal of this report is to describe all potential pathways for U.S. economic impacts of the ATP Digital Video Program. The intended application of this report is to support an ongoing study of the economic impacts of the ATP DV program. It is anticipated that the study as a whole will eventually provide a definitive record of the effects of the program on the U.S. economy. In the mean time, this report may also be helpful to ATP staff charged with the administration of the Digital Video Focus Area.
