This document compares the popular and eclectic Friedrich Grűtzmacher edition of the Boccherini B-flat Major Cello Concerto (published in 1895) with the more recent and historically accurate Richard Sturzenegger edition of the same work (published in 1949). A comparison of these two editions raises intriguing historical and performance practice issues pertinent to music of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries.en_US
