dc.description.abstract | A live, interactive, new media, sound performance, the piece addresses issues of identity, intimacy, and the technologically mediated body. In this work, the performer struggles to speak as computers and other communication technologies frustrate his desire to legibly convey meaning through speech. The result is an enigmatic and sometimes unpredictable blending of voice, body, and machine that raises questions about the social construction of identity and its status as an artificial and cybernetic social technology. | |
