Abstract
Oral history interview with Vicki Copp conducted by Katie Hobson on June 18, 2015. This interview features the associate pastor at Overland Park Church of the Nazarene in Overland Park, Kansas. Questions address Vicki's experiences as an ordained woman in ministry in Kansas: how she has been received by Kansas communities, her congregations, male colleagues, challenges she has faced (recognizing/resisting call, negative feedback, gendered expectations/stereotypes) and whether there is still a resistance to women in ministry in Kansas. This interview also includes Vicki's experiences in seminary, as a minister's wife, in ministry at a mission in Kansas City, as a professor at Nazarene Theological Seminary in Kansas City, MO. This interview was conducted for the Religion in Kansas Project as part of a summer fieldwork internship funded by the Friends of the Department of Religious Studies.
