In the following pages, I will try to give a description of the methods used for railway surveying in Bulgaria. These methods are results of long years of experience and practice and are suited to meet the requirements of the country. The surveying work is done by the government engineers, and all plans and papers necessary are prepared by them. The line is then given to contractor to build it up, after completion of which he turns it over to the government, as, in Bulgaria, the government owns all the railroads. The construction of the railroad is controlled by the appointed by the ministry engineers.en_US
