dc.description | This is one of hundreds of 60-second radio spots created by the Center for East Asian Studies (CEAS) for Kansas Public Radio (KPR). The purpose of this outreach program is to introduce the people of Kansas to the culture and current issues of East Asia.
dc.description.abstract | Broadcast Transcript: He's a wastrel and a scofflaw and he works for the government. No. He's not a US politician. He's North Korean and his name is Kim Jong Nam. He's the oldest son of the Dear Leader, Kim Jong Il, who is the son of the dead Eternal Leader Kim Il Sung. Kim's return has people wondering if perhaps the rift between him and his father has been repaired and if he is, after all, being considered as a possible successor. Kim Jong Il has two sons by different wives and pundits have speculated often on which of them might be the heir. Now that Kim Jong Nam is seated behind a desk at the party's Organization and Guidance Department, the power finger seems to be pointing at him. And all this in a communist country in which leadership is NOT hereditary. #ceas #hacker #NorthKorea #tsutsui
