dc.description.abstractOral history interview with Hallie Novak conducted by Rachel Gadd-Nelson on September 18, 2009. In this interview, Hallie Novak describes growing up Lutheran in near Herrington, Kansas, and in Alamosa, Colorado. She describes notable memories of events in the church, such as her little brother's funeral and Christmas Eve and Easter services. She also discusses the role of faith in her adult life, her perceptions of how the Lutheran church has changed over time, and how she sees it evolving into the future. This interview was conducted for the Religion in Kansas course taught at the University of Kansas by Dr. Timothy Miller in the fall of 2009.
