| dc.description.abstract | Oral history interview with Jeremiah Lange conducted by Lauren Helmer in Marion, Kansas, on December 29, 2010. Jeremiah Lange is the pastor of the Marion Presbyterian Church. In this interview, Jeremiah Lange describes the history of the Marion Presbyterian Church. He discusses the process by which the Presbyterian Church matches pastors with churches. He describes his daily routine as a pastor in a small town. He discusses the activities, programs and special events held by his church. He describes the organizational structure and financial situation of his church. He describes characteristics of the congregation. He also discusses religious education for children. He also addresses his approach to and the congregation's handling of controversial issues such as homosexuality and divorce. He also describes his view of the future of his church. This interview was conducted for the Religion in Kansas course taught at the University of Kansas by Dr. Timothy Miller in the fall of 2010. | |
