Psy's new video release, Gentleman, may have shattered the record for the most first-day views for songs when it was released but it quickly plummeted to number 13, ironically, because of Oppa. Not the 'oppa' that formed part of the refrain in Gangnam Style but the Oppa that Korean women use to refer to older men in this case Cho Yong-pil. Cho Yong-pil has been a fixture of Korean pop music since 1975. His newest song nosed Gentlemen out and took the top spot on the Billboard charts and his latest album took the top 10 spots relegating Gentleman to spot number 13. Psy says he has a lot of respect for the veteran performer. At 63, Cho is certainly no spring chicken but by today's standards he's a mere babe: Mick Jagger and Paul McCartney are both 70. Oppa!
