To better define the basic infrastructure for such a data management program, the Knowledge Management Infrastructure Definition Task Force was created in February 2000 and charged with defining the guiding principles of building and maintaining the University of Kansas KM infrastructure, outlining the business rules involved, and defining the technical architecture to be used.
