Abstract
Few issues in contemporary research are as polarizing as the internet's effect upon individuals and social interaction. While the changes ushered in by online social interaction are suspected to be negative in many ways, there stands a potential for social benefits from online interaction (Cole et al., 2017). American men are reporting increasing rates of isolation and increased preference for online interaction over in- person interaction (Equimundo, 2023). To explore online communities as a venue for help seeking, this study examines the difference in isolation and mental wellbeing in men who seek help online and those who seek help in person.
