Abstract

The paper deals with some of the differences between Polish and English address patterns. It presents in table form the basic patterns of Polish pronominal and nominal address. It touches upon problems that learners of either Polish or English might encounter in assimilating the patterns of the target language, and also some problems arising in translating address forms into English or into Polish.
