Abstract
Oral history interview with Joshua Shepherd conducted by Chhaya Kolavalli in Kansas City, Missouri, on June 15, 2014. In this interview, Joshua Shepherd discusses the organization of his intentional community in Kansas City, Kansas. He covers the ideology of intentional community, the purpose of living intentionally, and his ideas of social justice. Notably, he talks about the imperative of racial reconciliation within New Monasticism. This interview was conducted for the Religion in Kansas Project as part of a summer fieldwork internship funded by the Friends of the Department of Religious Studies.
