Abstract
The present study uses pre-existing administrative data to assess the extent to which a public-private collaboration between Just Food and the Lawrence-Douglas County Metropolitan Planning Organization has increased the impact and reach of Just Food’s mobile pantry, the Cruising Cupboard. The study compares data from before and after the implementation of programmatic changes based on the findings of the collaboration which utilized ArcGIS mapping technology to identify high-need locations. The primary data are the number of individuals, number of households, number of locations, and number of visits. This study adds to the literature regarding effective strategies to fight food insecurity and the benefits of cross-sector collaboration.
