DATASETS FOR Digital Accessible Knowledge and Well-inventoried Sites for Birds in Mexico: Baseline Sites for Measuring Faunistic Change

Abstract
Two datasets that summarize sites across Mexico for which detailed, complete inventories of bird faunas are available for prior to 1980. Both are shapefiles for use in GIS programs, and are in the WGS 1984 coordinate system (geographic coordinates). 1. WellSurveyed_SinglePixel.zip holds the shapefile that summarizes well-surveyed sites at the level of single, 0.05-degree grid squares across Mexico. 2. WellSurveyed_LocalAreas.zip holds the shapefile that summarizes well-surveyed sites that are broader in nature, but still relatively restricted at the level of the entire country.
