Kathleen Fitzpatrick, author of “Generous Thinking: A Radical Approach to Saving the University,” discusses her research into thinking and leading generously. Fitzpatrick urges KU faculty and staff to think critically, constructively, and generously in order to engage effectively with each other and beyond the university.
Description
This is the recording of the keynote presentation by Kathleen Fitzpatrick, author of “Generous Thinking: A Radical Approach to Saving the University.” The presentation was held on Wednesday, January 27th, 2021 via the Zoom cloud video conferencing system. It was sponsored by the University of Kansas Libraries and The Commons and held in conjunction with the inaugural KU Summit on Community-Engaged Learning and Scholarship, hosted by the Center for Service Learning. Fitzpatrick is the director of Digital Humanities and a professor of English at Michigan State University. She is also the author of “Generous Thinking: The University and the Public Good” and "Planned Obsolescence: Publishing, Technology, and the Future of the Academy."
