Abstract
The method of Learning Screening, which provides a direct measure of both performance and learning, was described. A predictive validity study was conducted to determine its usefulness as an initial identification tool for special education placement and for special academic help in the regular classroom. The overall performance ranking predicted 9 of 10 students enrolled in special classes and 3 of 4 students selected by their regular classroom teachers as in need of special academic help.
