Abstract
This study of the women-oriented wall paintings from Xeste 3, Akrotiri, Thera (ca. 1600 BCE) broadens Rehak's earlier studies of the frescoes to suggest that the fresco program pertains to women's transition from adolescence to adulthood and that lustral basins might have been sites for menstruation.
