Abstract
There are those with needs and those who are happy to help those in need. The one happy to help gives, the one in need receives. There are many ways in which the two meet as the venues for giving are broad. Some involve person-to-person giving (p2p), while others involve giving to an organization that distributes and delivers the fulfillment of the need. Some are in physical settings, while others make use of technology in various forms, like mobile phones or the Internet. In some cases those in need have no venue for sharing their need to have it met effectively or to allow those who would like to support their need to discover them. Often the process of giving can be onerous, a frustration to charities that must communicate needs effectively. Or there are gaps in how organizations are currently making use of technology to facilitate giving or gaps in need fulfillment services for specific situations. The purpose of this thesis project to research these gaps and then use those findings to build a web based tool that will to connect those in need with those who can give.
