Abstract

Tales to Astound is a proposal for an anthology TV series interrogating the role nostalgia plays in “nerd culture” that has spread into the political spectrum. Included are a pitch deck/series bible used to pitch the series to networks and scripts for two episodes.20 years ago, the heroes left. Now, there’s a calling for a return to the good old days, bringing about new versions of old heroes, and a returning villain with them. However, the criminal element is changing. The line between hero and villain blurs, and some aren’t sure that heroes should exist at all. No matter how much people may cling to the past, the world is dragged kicking and screaming to a new era. Heroes must reevaluate the past and consider their part in the future.
