Abstract
This thesis is the first one hundred and thirty-five pages of a fiction novel entitled The Hungry. The novel employs a braided narrative structure that moves back and forth between a vampire’s history living in France and Egypt, and her present life as the teacher and director of an elite arts preschool academy.
