Abstract
The Latin grammar entitled Rudimenta grammatices, by the Italian humanist Niccolò Perotti (1429/30–1480), was a milestone in the history of Latin grammatical writing. It was the first attempt during the Renaissance, and arguably the first ever, to write in one volume a textbook covering the entire field of grammar, as the term grammatica was understood in the late Middle Ages and early modern period.
