Abstract
Our Blood Sings Tomorrow is a short fantasy novel. The world of the story draws from Central American history and folklore, as well as that of the American Dust Bowl. The narrative uses a speculative lens to explore forced migration, colonial processes, healing from trauma, and the role narratives themselves play in identity formation. Episodes of an invented myth cycle are interspersed throughout the central narrative, reflecting the protagonist’s evolving sense of self over the course of her journeys.
