Abstract
Aerodynamic analysis of three different UAVs was completed using multiple software programs. Two of the software programs were high fidelity CFD programs, and the other one was an engineering level code. Advanced Aircraft Analysis was the first program used to determine the stability and control derivatives for each vehicle. These results were then compared to the higher fidelity CFD program, VORSTAB, stability and control derivatives. From the comparison conclusions were drawn about the programs and the vehicles themselves. Next, FLUENT was used to determine if there was a possibility of downwash over the top of the vehicle. Recommendations were then made for was to help prevent the downwash and flow separation from occurring. Also, recommendations were made for ways to continue upon this research.
