For those wondering what research and development in Israel has given the world, they may need to look no farther than their computer screens because the Pentium chip and microprocessor were originally developed there, along with the software for AOL’s Instant Messenger and cell phone technology. The following newsletter was designed during the summer of 2011, while the majority of research conducted for the project took place over the course of the spring 2011 semester.

Description

Israeli i.d.e.a.s. is a monthly newsletter geared toward highlighting the many innovations taking place in the business, financial, scientific and academic sectors in Israel. Each issue has a number of articles featuring interviews with men and women who are active in business, research and marketing in Israel, the United States and around the world. The Israeli i.d.e.a.s. newsletter is complete with rich media, which includes audio and video components as well as traditional text-based interviews. The acronym i.d.e.a.s. stands for: Ingenuity Development Energy or Entrepreneurship Academics and Science. Each discipline plays an important role in the nation’s success in the world economy. Israel can claim the second-most companies on the NASDAQ with 75 (only second to the U.S.) and has been credited with successfully dodging the great recession that hit the U.S. and other countries around the world late in the 2000′s.
