Abstract
Four metaphorical types of activity in the field of applied behavior analysis are considered: prospecting, farming, building, and guiding. Advantages of each sphere are noted, and benefits of this division of labor to the field as a whole are discussed. It is suggested that a recognition and nurturance of this division of labor may prevent competition between members and contribute to evolution in the field.
