Abstract
The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between age and work satisfaction for white collar women. The predictor variable was age while controlling for tenure. The criterion variable was satisfaction with work as measured by the Job Description Index (JDI). The subjects included 115 (representing a 92% response rate from an original distribution of 125) female clerical workers employed at the University of Kansas. The results suggest that age was significantly correlated with work satisfaction. However, when tenure was partialled out, the age/work satisfaction relationship was no longer significant.
