Abstract
Broadcast Transcript: Greetings from South Korea, hi-tech Mecca. According to the San Francisco Chronicle, practically the entire country now has access to broadband speeds of up to 20 megabits per second. Compare that to a paltry 4 megabits per second in the United States and it's clear that South Korea has zipped past Silicon Valley in a major way. Economic crises of the late 1990s sent South Korea barreling down the hi-tech autobahn to save the country's bottom line. These days, companies from Asia to America are turning to South Korea for the latest in cellular and computer technology. So, while you're downloading the quaint, antiquated Ms. PacMan onto your cell phone, picture your fellow techies in Seoul downloading recently released feature films--at broadband speeds--into theirs. #ceas #korea #tsutsui #hacker
