Splošna leksika in večpodročni termini v govoru turizma
    (2015) Mikolič, Vesna
Drawing upon the Dictionary of Tourism Terminology (TURS) the study shows the specific traits of tourism lexis, which is characterized by strong terminologization and de-terminologization processes, or rather, by the interaction of the general lexicon and multidisciplinary terminology within the field of tourism. Lexical entries in the dictionary provide information about the source field of a term by indicating the type of tourism and a specific field indication, the definition of term, and illustrative examples. Determining the tourism subfields is especially important with multidisciplinary terms, since their meanings and concepts intertwine differently in various fields.

Prekmursko besedje za gospodarska poslopja, kmečko dvorišče in kmečka opravila v Pleteršnikovem slovarju
    (2015) Koletnik, Mihaela
This article presents lexemes denoting farm buildings, farmyards, and farm chores in the Prekmurje dialect to the extent specified in the questionnaire used for the Slovene Linguistic Atlas (SLA). Forty-seven replies to 56 questions were collected in three local dialects included in the SLA network of towns: Cankova (SLA 387), Večeslavci (SLA 397), and Grad (SLA 398). Documentation and semantics of the dialectal vocabulary were checked in Murko's dictionary (1833), Pleteršnik's dictionary (1894/95), in the Dictionary of Standard Slovene as well as in three more dictionaries that include the Prekmurje dialect vocabulary.

Živalski frazemi v štajerskem južnopohorskem narečju
    (2015) Zorko, Zinka; Benko, Anja
This paper discusses the Styrian South Pohorje dialects of Mislinja and Oplotnica. On the phonological level, the Mislinja dialect belogs to the Styrian and not Carinthian dialect as proposed by the maps in Tone Logar and Jakob Rigler's 1993 Karta slovenskih narečij. Phraseology research as a science on its own started evolving in the 1970s. The field of animal phraseology deals with the animals living in their domestic al well as other (i.e., wild) environments. The culled animal phrasemes are written in the Oplotnica dialect and collected from the Pleteršnik's 1894 Slovensko-nemški slovar.

    Težave pri prevajanju svetniških imen
    (2015) Štavbar, Simona
The topic of this article is translation of saints' names from Slovenian into German and English, and of churches and artistic works dedicated to saints. The translation of saints' names and specific features of names are described. Translation options are suggested for names and certain regional names of churches and artistic works dedicated to saints in English and German. They are based on the frequent and evident errors (semantic and grammatical) found in selected guides, reference works, and on the Internet. Due to the complexity of this topic, it is necessary to stress the importance of knowledge and the consistency necessary for this kind of translation, and to encourage further research.

(2015) Zemljak Jontes, Melita; Valh Lopert, Alenka
This article is based upon comparative analysis presenting the vocabulary, written in Potrč's novel Na kmetih (The Land and the Flesh) (1954), and the entry cues in the Pleteršnik's Slovensko-nemški slovar (Slovenian-German dictionary) (1894–1895). According to the author's glossary of 89 dialect dictionary entries at the end of the book, the analysis shows that 52 of them have the same dialectal use also in the Pleteršnik's dictionary.

    Prekmurski členki v Pleteršnikovem slovarju
    (2015) Agrež, Maruška
This paper discusses Prekmurian particles in Pleteršnik's dictionary and other relevant word inventories and selected texts written in the Prekmurian standard language. The particle, typical of the Prekmurian language is ešče. Some particles are specific to Eastern Slovene while others also occur in Kajkavian. Prekmurian particles differ from Central and Standard Slovene particles in a lexical, phonological, and derivational sense. Many Prekmurian particles are etymologically similar to their Proto-Slavic variants.

    Slovensko slovaropisje in kritika
    (2015) Merše, Majda
A parallel phenomenon to Slovene lexicography has been its critique, which has been brought to the fore only in the past two centuries. Lexicographic works of a general nature received the most significant critical response, i.e., the Slovar slovenskega knjižnega jezika [Dictionary of Standard Slovene] (1970–1991) and Slovenski pravopis [Slovene Orthography] (2001). The article presents the scope of lexicographic critique, its typology and impact, as well as the main critical issues, along with some sample material.

Pravopisno slovaropisje na Inštitutu za slovenski jezik Frana Ramovša ZRC SAZU
(2015) Dobrovoljc, Helena; Bizjak Končar, Aleksandra
In this article we present the normative activity of the Lexicological Section of the Fran Ramovš Institute of the Slovenian Language at ZRC SAZU. In particular, the researchers investigate the codification of linguistic standards developed in the second half of the 20th century and early 21st century. Whereas Slovenian normative guides of the 20th century had twofold function, serving as an orthographic guide as well as a monolingual explanatory dictionary, the normative guide of the 21st century needs to be created in a digital environment and therefore organized as a language database providing normative information. Finally, some of the issues of database design are discussed.
