( Bring thumbtacks or push pins to mount your poster(s) and illustrative materials. ( A six-foot long table is also provided (sign-up sheets, handouts, and computer displays may be placed on the table). ( You should remain at the display to answer questions and discuss your project with attendees. ( All materials to be posted should be prepared before you arrive. Plan on arriving 15-30 minutes before the assigned poster session time to mount your display. You will have 15 minutes to take your display down after the session. ( Posters should be carefully planned to maximize clarity and simplicity in conveying information. ( Place a heading at the top that is at least three inches high. ( The body of the display should be self-explanatory and should include figures, table graphs, maps, or photographs displayed in a well-organized and coherent sequence from top to bottom. ( Do not crowd the display. ( All materials should be legible from a distance of a minimum of four feet (use fonts that are at least 18 pt., and colors that are legible at a distance). ( Caption each illustration. ( Limit the amount of text that is included. ( Provide sign-up sheets for attendees who might wish more information, reprints, etc. ( Bring adequate copies (approx. 300) of any handouts with you. Computer Displays ( If you have a computer display, you need to bring your own computer. ( Power will be provided, but there are no Internet connections so you should prepare a simulation of your session. ( Computer displays should complement the poster display - keep in mind that because of space limitations and large crowds, it may be difficult for all interested people to view the computer displays, but they will be able to see your poster display. * Bring an extension cord (compatible with your computer) at least 15' long.
