Abstract: This selective annotated bibliography of symposia, law review and journal articles, Websites, and videotapes is intended for law librarians and general researchers interested in the much debated topics of affirmative action and diversity. It was not my intent to create a comprehensive bibliography, but instead to annotate a group of materials that represents the broad range of viewpoints held by various commentators. I limited the scope of this bibliography to the past decade, 1990-1999. I preferred this ten year period because an excessive amount of material has been written over the past thirty years and even a selective bibliography covering that broad a scope would have been unwieldy. The earlier material is often cited in the newer works, particularly in articles and books that contained a “historical perspective” section or chapter. The law review and journal annotations are divided into three general categories, “Education,” “Race Theory,” and “Business.” The Website and miscellaneous section is not categorized and includes annotations to videotapes, an audiotape, and several Websites.
