Abstract: Informed decision making and knowledge sharing are critical to an institution’s success. Providing an enterprise-wide view of data on which to base future directions can help achieve that success. To better define the basic infrastructure for such a data management program, the Knowledge Management Infrastructure Definition Task Force was created in February 2000 and charged with defining the guiding principles of building and maintaining the University of Kansas KM infrastructure, outlining the business rules involved, and defining the technical architecture to be used. This report is the result of the Task Force’s. It is intended as the starting point for a broader University effort and should act as a guide for the definition and implementation of the initial project(s) in data warehousing.
